Top Six Most Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking for fun on Florida’s Space Coast, look no further than Airboat Rides at Midway, where guests can sit back and relax while gliding atop the St. John’s River. Whether it’s your first ride or your millionth, with Airboat rides at Midway, we know you have questions, and we have the answers.

Here is a list of just some of the frequently asked questions we receive at Airboat Rides at Midway:

  • Are reservations required, how far in advance do I need to make reservations, and what is your cancellation policy?

Reservations are not required but are recommended. However, the staff does always try to accommodate last-minute reservations and walk-ins. If guests are looking to book a large party, they should contact the office as soon as possible for accommodations. If you must cancel, please call Airboat Rides at Midway and cancel as soon as possible so we can open your seat(s) to other customers who may be waiting.

  • What happens if it rains, and how do we know it’s going to rain or not?

Airboat Rides at Midway does not operate Airboat Tours during the rain, and our captains will wait for it to clear up before going out on tour. Being the Florida weather can be unpredictable at times, guests should consult the experts at www.weather.com the morning of their tour to what the weather patterns will be that day. If an airboat gets caught in a storm while out on tour, airboat captains will utilize inclement weather shelters found throughout the St. John’s River until it is safe to return to Midway.

  • Are you guaranteed to see alligators?

Airboat Rides at Midway can guarantee that guests will see alligators after each tour ends. However, staff cannot make any guarantees about the wildlife guests may see while out on tour. Guests can get the chance to hold baby alligators at Airboat Rides at Midway and the captains put a band around their mouths to prevent any bites. However, please do not stick your hand or face in or around their heads.

  • Do you provide ear protection, seat belts, and life jackets?

Airboat Rides at Midway does provide noise-canceling headsets, and all airboats are equipped with life jackets, which children five and under are required to wear for the duration of the tour. However, there are no seatbelts.

  • Are you located in the Everglades?

No, Airboat Rides at Midway is located on the St. Johns River, East of Orlando, which is sometimes referred to as The Central Florida Everglades. The Everglades is south of Lake Okeechobee in south Florida.

  • How many people can fit on your boat?

The airboats at Airboat Rides at Midway can fit up to fifteen people. Tours depart at specific times daily, and it’s not dependent on whether we have a full boat, so the number of passengers may vary. There is no minimum requirement for the number of people booking a tour. However, there is a minimum of at least four adult passengers to take an airboat out. Smaller parties may need to be flexible, but Airboat Rides at Midway does offer six-passenger private tours.

With United States Coast Guard (USCG) Master Captain as your guide on the USCG-inspected and certified airboat fleet, visitors can catch wildlife in their natural habitat and enjoy the “real Florida” experience not found in a zoo.
